Sony India debuts Xperia XZ1 with Android 8.0 for Rs 44990

Now Sony is all set to launch the Xperia XZ1 smartphone in India today. Back in IFA 2017 conference, Sony Xperia XZ1 and the XZ1 Compact were launched alongside the Xperia XA1 Plus. Internationally, the device is priced at $699 (INR 44,900) so, according to their previous pricing strategy, the device might be priced around INR 50,000. The Xperia XZ1 replaces the Xperia XZs smartphone, which was launched just a few months ago.

Cameras are one of the main highlights of the XZ1. The Xperia XZ1 offers 19MP Exmor RS sensor with the ability to shoot slow-motion video at 960 frames per second, predictive capture and 4K video recording. In India, the company is only bringing the latter variant to the market. The front-facing camera offers the Motion Eye camera with a 13MP sensor. The unbelievable handset also has 19 mega pixel Exmor RS sensing element with the capability to shoot slo-mo videotape recording at 960 frames per second, projecting capture and 4K video. Expect the new Xperia XZ1 to cost around Rs 50,000. It is powered by a 64 bit 2.45GHz Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor with 4GB of RAM. It is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top of the screen.

The device comes with an internal storage option of 64GB which can also be expanded by a MicroSD card of capacity up to 256GB.

In terms of connectivity, the India version will feature dual SIM card capability with 4G LTE and VoLte. This is a big deal as most of the flagship smartphones released this year in India are still stuck on Android Nougat with many promising upgrades to Android Oreo. The device is fitted with a 2700 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick charge 3.0 complaint.

The Xperia XZ1 has a premium aluminum unibody design and is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

For the audiophiles, the device does feature high-resolution audio with digital active noise cancellation with S-Force surrounding sound will sure to enhance the audio experience. It comes in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black colors.
