Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad Police V Satyanarayana said they have arrested Qazi on Monday night and seized many documents and permission letters in the infamous "child bride" racket case.

Besides that, an Omani national, Al Awdi Yasir Abdullah Hamdan was also arrested for his close ties to the qazi, and for marrying a girl from Talabkatta in Hyderabad. The kingpin accused, Volta Qazi, was absconding during that time was arrested, and through him police managed to nab other accused. The arrested Sheikhs hails from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar. "Right now We do not have sufficient evidence to book them in a criminal case, as victims are not coming forward to file cases".

The police official said steroids and medicines to boost sexual potency were recovered from one of those arrested.

On September 20, the police busted a marriage racket in the city and arrested 20 people including eight Arab Sheikhs, four Muslim clerics, four lodge owners and five marriage brokers.

Meanwhile, the police will be deporting two persons citing lack of evidence.

One of them was identified as 75-year-old Baloshi Abdullah Mubarak Abdullah, a blind man who has a pacemaker and is undergoing dialysis thrice a week. "There will be zero tolerance for this kind of activities", he said and exuded confidence of rooting out the menace in two months.

The racket was busted after a woman complained to the police that her husband with the help of some brokers "sold" their minor daughter to a 70-year-old Omani national Ahmed Abdullah.

All the three Omani nationals were in touch with Rifai, he said. Another Omani, who worked as a broker, had brought Sulaiman to Hyderabad. 99% of the people, who come to the city, come on either a tourist, business, student or medical visas.

He also said that tablets to improve sexual potency were found with the sheikhs and agents, and more information would be provided after the investigation.
