It was a turbulent time for Arsenal before the transfer window shut following a 4-0 rout at Premier League rivals Liverpool amid uncertainty over Alexis Sanchez's future.

Since then Arsenal have won two Premier League games, drawn impressively at Chelsea, won twice in the Europa League and once in the League Cup.

"We realised what we produced was not good enough", Wenger said. It was just before the transfer window closed, and just before an worldwide break.

Lacazette will be now hoping to continue his goalscoring form at home against Brighton on Sunday, to help Arsenal get a valuable three points before the worldwide break. It was a very hard global break as well because you have two weeks to think about everything that happened. "It feels like a different team".

The Gunners meet Brighton later today.

'For me the weight of the transfer market was much heavier than the worldwide break. You see the way we play football. The opportunity we have is to go into this worldwide break differently'.

Wenger's side have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, but have no margin for error as they try to keep in touch with early pace-setters Manchester City and Manchester United.

"Speaking at a news conference before the game on Thursday, Wenger said: "[Ozil's injury is] very short-term.

The Australian kept his second clean sheet of the season against Newcastle United last Sunday and the keeper wants to contribute to the team, Ryan said: "I'm just going to do my best, let my instincts take over and contribute to the team as best I can".

"It has been a while since I felt a proper Arsenal player but I am back, playing these types of games".
