According to the report, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants Martial to replace Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez who could be on his way out of the Emirates stadium at the end of the ongoing League season in England.

It's worldwide break, and there's only so much you can cover regarding injury news, so it's time to talk Manchester United transfer rumors, as we head into the final seven days left before the huge clash at Liverpool next Saturday.

Martial moved to United from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in September 2015, for a fee of £36 million which could rise as far as to £58 million; his contract has three bonuses within it worth £7.2 million each.

Martial has not been a regular starter at Old Trafford under the Portuguese.

Just 19 when he arrived in the Premier League, the Frenchman was fantastic in his debut campaign under Louis van Gaal, netting 11 goals in the top flight.

His downturn in form prompted much speculation about his future this summer, but Martial has answered his critics with a string of dazzling performances for the Red Devils this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in his eight appearances so far. Having kicked off the campaign on a strong note, his stock seems to be rising again, and Arsenal are set to make a move for the France worldwide.

Sánchez is in the final year of his deal, and Arsenal could cash-in on the player in January to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.

And Wenger reckons the French winger is a flawless replacement when Alexis Sanchez leaves Arsenal.

It remains to be seen whether Martial could force a move.

Martial made an immediate impact at Old Trafford when he scored 17 goals in his first season for the club under Louis van Gaal, but that form initially dropped off under Jose Mourinho before he sparked back into life this term.
