Injustice 2 debuted this year on consoles of the current generation, however, Nintendo fans have been wondering for some time if the game will arrive on Switch.

After all, the Switch is in need of a big fighting game, as it now has titles like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Ultra Street Fighter II and countless Neo-Geo brawlers at the moment. But Injustice 2 would hit the spot.

During his presentation at the Brazil Game Show, GameSpot chatted with Boon, who pointed out that there are possibilities to see Injustice 2 on Switch, although he suggested that it could be a limited version.

"Yeah, I think at the end of the day you can make nearly any game... there are inevitable compromises, but you know, you can make some version of Injustice on the Atari 2600", Boon stated. "It's not going to be great, but I bet you can make something".

There are already a number of two-dimensional fighting games on the Nintendo Switch but majority of them are remastered or reworked classic installments. And he's been exploring the idea, though nothing is official. "Yeah, actually, I do", he noted. The Nintendo Switch, after all, does feature a different hardware architecture.

While he concedes that it "might not be easy", he does explain the benefits of the Switch platform, stating "From the game player's perspective, would it be fun to play Injustice? I know on the art team, we have enough people to do three console SKUs, and that would be something we'd need to work out". "I do think it would", Boon added. And the team could easily attach a second season of characters onto it.

Injustice 2 released in May for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
