There was good news for Celtic yesterday when it was revealed that Brendan Rodgers should be able to field his strongest starting XI in Wednesday's Champions League tie against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.

All three withdrew from worldwide duty through injury and are unlikely to feature against Dundee on Saturday.

"They've come through very well", Rogers said about Brown and Armstrong.

"They'll join the squad tomorrow for training and maybe Saturday is too soon for them but certainly Bayern Munich should be fine".

Midfielders Stuart Armstrong and Scott Brown missed Scotland's FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Slovakia and Slovenia with respective calf and hamstring injuries while Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Jozo Simunovic sat out two matches, reportedly due to a hamstring tear.

"So it was never an injury that was going to keep him out for a sustained period of time but he felt something and he stayed behind to get treatment". He also secured a League Cup win over Dundee and an impressive 3-0 triumph over Anderlecht in the Champions League.

He said: "We have confidence and no matter who we play we'll give 100% and try to get the result".

"We had a real tough game at the end of it all against Hibs and we still came through that and managed to get a point, so I accept the award on behalf of the staff and the players and everyone at the club".

Having both players invovled would be a huge boost for Celtic.
