"We gave everything we had to this show - the lovely homes and those sweet families - but this just felt like the right time to catch our breath for a bit", Joanna, 39, tells People. In addition, style tips from Joanna are also available for those who are hoping to emulate her designs in their own homes.

In a video posted on the Magnolia Blog, the couple said that their decision to end "Fixer Upper" - which has become one of the highest-rated shows in HGTV history since the pilot first aired in May 2013 - is "bittersweet".

But with all that success comes more work, responsibility and stress. He said they filmed 11 months out of the year and the contractor didn't realize that situation was "unique".

Chip confessed that the filming schedule got to be too much. "Nobody told us that that was a little bit irrational". "When is this going to be over?"

"The kids were so young when we started", Joanna added. "Fast-forward to today and our oldest is nearly a teenager - they're all growing up so quickly". It featured the team-up of real-life husband and wife, Chip and Joanna, as they flipped hundreds of houses through their company, Magnolia Homes.

Despite tabloid rumors that marital strife played a role in their decision, the pair says that's downright false. "Regardless of what the future holds, we are hopeful for what God has for us and our family in this next season".

With theirnewfound freedom, the couple is looking forward to spending time with their four children: Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7, and expanding their brand. With their marriage stronger than ever, "We would rather stop here, where we still feel we're in a really good place", Chip says.

She said, "We gave everything we had to this show-the attractive homes and those sweet families-but this just felt like the right time to catch our breath for a bit". "How far can you push it before something really does break down? Hopefully that will pay dividends down the road".
