The Leon County Sheriff's Office says one of their detectives responded to an unusual call about a 9-foot anaconda Thursday.

She successfully grabs the anaconda by the tail with her hands, as the giant snake wraps its tail around her arm while she's dragging it across the ground.

A Leon County Sheriff's detective is getting props for helping to wrangle a large snake found curled up in a Florida ditch with her bare hands. Fortunately, Shaw was up to the task - she has experience handling exotic critters. Then she maneuvers the snake into a duffel bag, despite its attempts to snap at her.

LCSO shared the video to their Facebook page Thursday.

"We believe this was someone's pet that either escaped or was released". It asked people to make sure their pets cages are secure, or call authorities if they can no longer care for an exotic pet.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is now in possession of the anaconda, and it's unclear if the owner will get the snake back, reports WCTV.
