"As Furniture Row Racing looks ahead to the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Denver, Colo. -based team is not planning to field the No. 77 Toyota as a second vehicle entry".

FRR will continue entering a No. 78 Toyota for Martin Truex Jr., who now leads the series in wins, points, top-five finishes and laps led, while it will dissolve the No. 77 auto for current driver Erik Jones, a rookie who is leaving the team at the end of the season to join Joe Gibbs Racing. Visser said Wednesday he wants to field two cars in the future.

Truex leads the Cup Series standings and has a series-high six victories this year. "Our 100 percent focus next season will be on the No. 78 Toyota Camry, which will be driven by Martin Truex Jr".

After a few months of speculation, Furniture Row Racing will contract to a single-car organization in NASCAR's premier series next season.

JTG Daugherty Racing's Tad Geschickter confirmed that his team will purchase the No. 77 charter (a guaranteed starting spot with guaranteed purse money) - pending NASCAR approval - for driver Chris Buescher next season.
