The NFL sent out a press release today to announce that several teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers are helping donate money to relief efforts for the victims of the Mexico City quake.

The NFL, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers will donate a total of $200,000 to Banorte's Fundacion Banorte, with the bank matching those contributions dollar for dollar. The Dallas Cowboys have also committed $50,000 to the Salvation Army's relief efforts in Mexico City. Through this donation, the Salvation Army will provide water, food, shelter and emotional care to those immediately affected by the disaster and work with local officials to address long-term assistance for the most vulnerable and in need.

As the NFL continues to extend its reach to Mexico, the league itself is taking action to help those impacted by the devastating quake that hit Mexico City last month.

Tens of thousands of homes and apartments were destroyed and will have to be rebuilt following the September 19 magnitude-7.1 quake, which killed 369 people, and an earlier, even more powerful one that struck in southern Mexico on September 7 with a magnitude of 8.1.

The Raiders will host the Patriots at Estadio Azteca on Sunday, Nov. 19.
