The Sri Lankan Navy on Thursday detained five Indian fishermen belonging to Rameshwaram and seized one mechanised boat near Delft island on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka Navy on Wednesday has handed over 6 more Indian fishing trawlers back to India, having made repairs to them.

The incident follows the theft of $81 million from Bangladesh's central bank past year, which prompted Swift - the interbank messaging system used for money transfers - to develop measures to help lenders defend against cyberattacks.

A spokesman for Sri Lanka Navy when contacted for clarification of a news report appeared in Press Trust Of India, datelined Rameswaram, stating Sri Lankan Navy today (12 October) took three persons into custody after seizing 156 kgs of ganja from them.

Far Eastern International said it will strengthen internal controls relating to its transactions using Swift and appoint external information-technology consultants to review the security of current systems and suggest any improvements.
