"You can't do a prequel first", says one of the characters in Wednesday's episode of South Park, 'Franchise Prequel.' "Then it's not a prequel". And it does so in a way that's typically topical of the show while managing to lay the ground work for a game that's been in development for more than two years. In trying to save their reputation, the boys come face to face with Mark Zuckerberg. Appropriately titled "Franchise Prequel", the episode shows the beginnings of Cartman's plans to start a superhero franchise, gives backstory for Jimmy's alter-ego, and digs a little deeper into the events leading up to the start of Ubisoft's upcoming RPG. There are some digs at Facebook and some topical jokes aimed at Harvey Weinstein and Russian Federation.

The final scene is essentially the trailer we saw at E3 2016, setting us up for the video game.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole will have a lot to offer, including various superhero types, tons of hilarious interactions and, of course, Cartman being the cursing superhero that he is. The PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One game drops October 17.
