Rose McGowan (at a Los Angeles event last month) settled with Weinstein after an alleged assault in 1997. After the New Yorker expose ran Tuesday, which included the report that Weinstein had allegedly sexually assaulted three women, McGowan tweeted "now I am allowed to say rapist". Over & over I said. He said it hadn't been proven. "TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME", she wrote. I had already sold a script I wrote to your studio, it was in development.

1) @jeffbezos I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. "Deal was done. Amazon won a dirty Oscar". Many of them, she said, were well aware of his predatory nature, and she called them out by name. Asking for multiple victims of sexual violence. "I love @amazon but there is rot in Hollywood", the actress added.

It wasn't entirely clear which tweets had caused the suspension.

She also smartly stepped in to protect Lindsay Lohan, when the former child star defended Weinstein in an Instagram story. The settlement stemmed from an incident at a hotel during the Sundance Film Festival but exact McGowan was seemingly forbidden from speaking about them because of a nondisclosure agreement. No further details were included in the story.

Actress Rose McGowan, an outspoken critic of abuses against women in the entertainment industry and one of several high-profile figures to accuse Harvey Weinstein of abuse, has been suspended from Twitter. And by episode, she means: alleged rape.

@benaffleck "GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT" you said that to my face.

Well it seems that the time for total honesty has come.

Meanwhile, Cate Blanchett recently offered her "wholehearted support" to the women who have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct. It's Jeff Bezos's turn, along with Amazon and Amazon Studios. Earlier this week, in light of the scandal, Amazon said "we are reviewing our options for the projects we have The Weinstein Co". But, after McGowan gave the interview "her lawyer contacted Farrow and NBC to revoke consent because it could put her in legal jeopardy given the terms of her settlement agreement", said "sources with knowledge of the situation".
