"We are writing today to let you know that we have been asked by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support the relief and rebuilding efforts and Carnival Fascination has been chartered to provide housing for relief workers in the US Virgin Islands".

Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Fascination.

The ship departed the popular homeport for the last time and is now heading straight for its new temporary home in the Hurricane Irma hit St. Croix to be used by FEMA.

San Juan cruises were just days away from resuming.

In a statement, the line said: "Carnival Fascination will return to year-round service from San Juan beginning February 18, 2018".

Guests booked on one of the cancelled cruises will receive a refund in full and a 100% cruise credit for any future Carnival cruise if rebooked by mid-November. As such, the company is proud to partner with FEMA in order to help the hurricane-ravaged region. They are also working with airline travel partners in waiving the air ticket change fee and refunds.

Carnival Cruise Line yesterday announced the cancellation of all Carnival Fascination cruises from October 15 through January 28, 2015. There, the ship will be updated with a number of new features like Guy's Burger Joint, Blue Iguana Cantina and more.

Carnival also modified Caribbean itineraries on a variety of ships through December 31 that substitute new ports of call for visits that had been scheduled for St. Maarten and St. Thomas.
