Monahan said the suspect continued to flee but was caught inside a nearby building a short time later.

"One police officer discharged one round, which struck the suspect in the leg", Monahan said.

Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting in Brooklyn Thursday night that left a man in critical condition. He was transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The firearm was later determined to be a bb gun.

It wasn't immediately clear what the suspect was doing with the gun in the deli.

The victim is a 19-year old man with multiple priors, said police.
