Disney XD will preview two episodes of its new Big Hero 6 The Series on November 20 following the premiere of the one-hour movie Baymax Returns, featuring the robot character from the popular animated theatrical film.

The series is schedule to debut on Disney XD in early 2018. Immediately following the TV movie, two special full-length preview episodes of Big Hero 6: The Series will debut exclusively on the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD VOD.

Originally inspired by the Marvel comic of the same name created by Man of Action, the Big Hero 6 series will see the return of Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass; Jamie Chung as no-nonsense, speed genius Go Go; Scott Adsit as huggable robot Baymax; Alan Tudyk as tech guru Alistair Krei; Ryan Potter as tech genius Hiro; Genesis Rodriguez as quirky scientist Honey Lemon; David Shaughnessy as the butler Heathcliff; and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as Fred's dad. Then, starting November 24, series shorts will air every Friday for six weeks on Disney XD, the DisneyNOW app and Disney XD YouTube.

Joining the Big Hero 6 series are also Khary Payton and Brooks Wheelan as Wasabi and Fred, respectively.

Based on the 2014 film, the animated series picks up after the events of the movie and follows the continuing adventures of tech prodigy Hiro and his cutting-edge robot, Baymax.

The animated series, based on Walt Disney Animation Studios' 2014 Best Animated Feature Oscar victor, continues the adventures and friendship of Hiro, Baymax and the Big Hero 6 team, picking up immediately following the events of the feature film. The TV movie, series and shorts will roll out through 2018 on Disney XD channels and Disney Channels worldwide. Kim Possible veterans Mark McCorkle, Bob Schooley and Nick Filippi are executive producers, and Filippi is supervising director. Nevertheless, all the fun to be had with Big Hero 6 in its near-future-set city of San Fransokyo will be retained for the series, aimed at younger viewers.

Though it's been three years since Big Hero 6 first hit theaters, a month feels like an impossibly long wait for Baymax Returns! Recurring guests include Jenifer Lewis as Professor Granville, Haley Tju as Karmi, Andrew Scott as Obake and Andy Richter as Globby.
