Erin and Abby Delaney, the conjoined twins were born on 24th July, 2016 to Heather and Riley Delaney from Mooresville in North Carolina, United States.

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) released an update on Abby and Erin Delaney saying they are now able to sit independently from one another, be held separately and are practicing rolling over and crawling.

"Despite the fact that this has been a long trip, with many good and bad times, Riley and I are excited to perceive how well the girls are getting along today", Heather said in an announcement on Sunday.

"We are so appreciative for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia group, and for the help and consolation that our families, our companions and the group have given us amid this long voyage".

"This is one of the earliest separations of craniopagus conjoined twins ever recorded", said Dr. Taylor.

"The girls are inspiring", Heather told the hospital. The separation surgery was done on June 6, 2017.

"Nearly five months after separation, we are happy to announce that both Erin and Abbey Delaney are doing well as they continue to recover from this very complex surgery", said neurosurgeon Gregory Heuer, MD, PhD.

The twins have just had a few follow-up surgeries and will keep on undergoing reconstructive techniques in the coming years-to supplant the missing bone regions on their heads, standardize their hairlines and limit scarring.

"The girls are rousing", Heather said. "As their folks, it is exceptionally slick for Riley and me to have a front line seat to this and watch them conquer these mind blowing deterrents".

Abu Hamda said the girls' complicated condition "cannot be dealt with in the Gaza Strip, so we hope they will be transferred overseas for a separation".

"The ability to plan and carry out this type of surgery is a testament to the skill and expertise available here at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia", added N. Scott Adzick, CHOP's Surgeon-in-Chief. "I'm extremely proud of Dr. Heuer, Dr. Taylor and the entire CHOP team, and I'm thrilled that Erin and Abby have a promising future because their courageous parents entrusted their daughters to our care".
