While Apple Pay will be supported by UAE credit and debit cards from MasterCard and Visa, the following banks are now accepting it - Emirates NBD, Mashreq, HSBC, RAKBANK, Standard Chartered and Emirates Islamic. You can also use Apple Pay in Safari on any Mac introduced in or after 2012 running macOS Sierra and confirm the payment with iPhone 6 or later or Apple Watch, or with Touch ID on the new MacBook Pro.

Apple Pay is now at more than 50 percent of all retail locations in the USA, including 67 of the top 100 United States retailers.

Apple Pay was launched globally on October 20, 2014 with six partner banks in the US.

Some of them include: Starbucks, Apple Store, Debenhams, Boots, Virgin Megastore, Zara, Mango, Paul, Eataly, Harvey Nichols, Reiss, Babyshop, Homecentre, Carrefour UAE, VOX Cinemas, Sharaf DG, Ikea, Marks & Spencer, Costa, Waitrose and Nero.

Online shopping in apps and on websites accepting Apple Pay is as simple as the touch of a finger with Touch ID, so there is no need to manually fill out lengthy account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information. Currently, it is available in 20 countries worldwide. When people do make mobile payments, they're nearly always using Apple Pay, according to Apple.

Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all the rewards and benefits offered by their credit and debit cards.

Meanwhile, First Data has today announced its Clover Go point of sale devices will be sold in Apple stores and that all First Data retailers will now all be able to accept Apple Pay. From a security perspective, when you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers.
