This holiday, take a step back from the door busters. is keeping a running list of closures (plus one for stores staying open) and notes that, while Sears Hometown Stores, Stein Mart and Shoe Carnival were open on Thanksgiving Day 2016, this year they will be closed.

Currys PC World are currently listing more than 30 TV deals which they describe as "Black Friday Prices now" which all have free next day delivery.

So retailers are likely to continue tweaking the Black Friday paradigm in an effort to boost foot traffic, while keeping web traffic strong.

Deals can be hard to grab, but they can also be misleading. And technically, you don't have to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start saving.

And don't fret if you spend the entire Thanksgiving weekend hanging out with your family instead of shopping.

The chain-based electronics company Richfield launched Wednesday's announcement of its black Friday and made many deals right down to Saturday.

"There is no need to rush away from Thanksgiving dinner to a crowded store or to waste time on (Cyber) Monday, the 27th, shopping online", said Tenpao Lee, interim dean of the College of Business Administration at Niagara University. These numbers are also derived from the online arms of brick-and-mortar retailers like Target and Walmart.

Indeed, when he first began the website about 12 years ago, he was more likely to get a cease-and-desist order from a retailer than any appreciation for putting their ads online.

Retailers are adapting to customer tendencies by emphasizing their online presences as well. "Deals will come and go through Christmas".

There's no word on when the deals will end but expect more offers as we get closer to Black Friday.

Amazon will also be hosting thousands of "Lightning Deals" - products available at a discount, in limited quantities, for a short period of time - introduced throughout the sale, with new deals becoming available as often as every five minutes.

Adults 45 and older prefer Monday's online shopping experience during the holiday season, the poll showed.

Whilst the deals remain a closely-guarded secret, there will be sizable discounts available on over 60,000 products across a range of toys, homewares and electricals.
