Blake Shelton is speaking out to remember his late brother Richie, who passed away in a vehicle accident in 1990. To mark the solemn anniversary, the Oklahoman shared the following message on Twitter, "Lost my brother 27 years ago today". And, as Shelton noted in a tweet Monday, "It changed my life forever". "We still miss you Richie!".

"Wow.... "Texoma Shore" has debuted as the #1 country album!" Made me realize that life is precious and there's no time like RIGHT NOW to go for it... "That's one of the things I got when my brother was killed", he said.

"And next thing you know this person I kind of knew and worked with on the show, I didn't really know her that well the first time around on the show..." he was quoted as saying by The Rolling Stones. That album earned Shelton a number of awards, including Top Country Artist at the Billboard Music Awards in May. In all, the Oklahoma native has six platinum and four gold albums to his credit.

"I'll Name the Dogs", Texoma Shore's lead single, has managed to crack the top ten in only eight weeks.

Shelton will kick start 2018 by taking brand new Texoma Shore tracks and old favorites on the road for his headlining Country Music Freaks tour alongside Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce, and special guest Trace Adkins.
