The Boston Celtics keep on chugging along.

It marked the first game Boston played without star point guard Kyrie Irving, who was listed as inactive after he suffered a facial fracture in last Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. He was sent home at halftime and sat out Sunday's victory over the Toronto Raptors in Boston.

Irving will wear a mask on the court and says he may need to play in it for a couple of weeks. Coach Brad Stevens said earlier that he, too, was planning on Irving playing tonight. He told reporters that he plans to wear a face mask in Brooklyn. "All that stuff - that's between him and our medical staff". It will be Irving's third time donning a protective mask, wearing an all-black, Batman-like one in 2012 against the Knicks because of a broken jaw, and again in 2013 with a broken nose. Fortunately, Boston has still been able to stretch their win streak to 12 in his absence.

The 25-year-old Irving is averaging a Celtics-leading 20.3 points per game this season.
