Ever since its premature cancellation in 2006, fans have been eager to see the story continue in some way.

TV Line is reporting that the highly anticipated Deadwood movie is set to roll into production next Fall.

HBO's top programming executive, Casey Bloys, confirmed a couple of months ago that the planned movie, based on the hit series, was gaining traction.

Though TVLine claims to have their sources, they admit that a representative from HBO declined to comment about the project, which hasn't actually gotten the green light, yet. "David [Milch] totally delivered on that". Yes, it sounds like the revival fans have waited years for is finally happening. "If we can do it on a budget that makes sense for us, and if we can get the cast together, we're inclined to do it". Ian McShane stars in Starz's American Gods, a spring series with a lengthy post-production process, which could give the actor a free window if Season 3 becomes a reality. "I would love to do that again, be reunited with David and Tim [Olyphant] and everybody concerned with it", he said, via Den of Geek. The show ran three seasons, starting in 2004, before ending in 2006.
