Feminists are up in arms over an Amazon makeover in the new, male-directed film "Justice League", which stripped the warrior women down to skimpier versions of the outfits they wore in the female-directed "Wonder Woman".

Athena Film Festival artistic director Melissa Silverstein also called it "a fantastic example of the difference between the male and female gaze".

Wonder Woman was a huge hit, and people have been looking forward to the second installment since it was announced. Gal Gadot kicked serious butt as the titular character, and the rest of the women in the film-including Robin Wright as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince's aunt, and the other Amazonian warriors-had an emphasis on being strong over sexy.

"Seriously, stop blindly retweeting that Wonder Woman costume meme".

Titan Books has released a 96-page hardcover book titled "Justice League Official Collector's Edition" which features lots of new photos and information about the movie. pointed out an interesting quote from Ben Affleck, after he was asked what it was like being an executive producer on Justice League. In Wonder Woman, the fierce soldiers rock costumes designed by Lindy Hemming that cover their shoulders and torsos, which makes sense since they're constantly dodging deadly spears and swords.

Another noted how the Wonder Woman outfits were created by female costume designer Lindy Hemming, contrasted with the male design of Justice League's Michael Wilkinson. "I don't even wanna see that movie, I just hate misinformation", John S.Troutman wrote.
