The minority affairs minister Naqvi said, the protestor should realise that it is just a movie.

While almost one lakh members of the Sena community were seen at a massive gathering at Gandhinagar, thousands came into the street in a protest march in Surat with the same demand of blocking the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Bollywood epic Padmavati.

"What you like in a film should be accepted, and what you do not like should be left there", the minister was quoted as saying by PTI. The rally started from Vanita Vishram and ended at district collectorate on Athwalines road where the protesters handed over a memorandum to district collector Mahendra Patel.Local VHP leader Dinesh Navadia said, "We would not let this film to be released".

Naqvi said he liked watching movies and did not attempt to evaluate their history or geography. Rajput community members belonging to the Karni Sena carried out massive protests in Gandhinagar and Surat on Sunday. In the film, Deepika Padukone will play the role of Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor will play the Rajput king, Ratan Singh, and Ranveer will be seen as Alauddin Khilji. The movie is scheduled to release on December 1.According to Mansinh Rathod, who is leading the Gujarat chapter of "Karni Sena", Bhansali has "distorted the historical facts in the movie."We have learnt that there is a dream sequence in the movie wherein "Rani Padmavati" has been shown romancing with "Allaudin Khilji".

"Padmavati" is set to hit the screens on December 1.
