The Game Awards will take place on December 7, and can be livestreamed worldwide.

In fact, all five games up for the top Game of the Year prize are all only available on one format except for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds which itself is now only on PC but will be coming to Xbox One by the end of the year.

A few awards will be decided by fan vote, and fans can cast their votes using Facebook, Google, and Twitter to help decide the winners of Best Esports Player, Best Esports Team, and Most Anticipated Game.

Creator/executive producer of The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley said, "The Game Awards unites the global gaming community, no matter who you are, where you live, or what type of video games you enjoy".

The Game Awards revealed their nominees for this year's show, and to no one's surprise, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey have been nominated for many awards.

Destiny 2 is nominated for Best Action Game, Best Multiplayer, Best Art Direction, Best Score/Music, Best Audio Design, and a new award in Best Ongoing Game.

While no official sponsors have been announced for the VGAs, we can only hope to receive something as good as the Schick Hydrobot in the 2017 event.
