To that end, Tt eSPORTS of Thermaltake Gaming have announced a new gaming chair, the X COMFORT AIR.

The X Comfort Air is the first air-cooled gaming chair (that we're aware of) with a set of four fans plopped underneath the seat.

Thermaltake lines four fans underneath the X Comfort Air's cushioning, engineered to drag air from below to lightly hit your backside, ultimately cooling you down.

In order to achieve maximum cooling performance, the air cooling optimized design of the X COMFORT AIR directs streamlined airflow through the seat base via aerodynamic compression, thus preventing unnecessary air loss for maximum airflow efficiency. The use of high-quality components in the fan blade design provides a whopping 75,000-hour lifespan, which is double than that of industry standard and provides utmost performance and reliability.

Acknowledging the fact that some people's bottoms get a lot warmer than others during marathon gaming sessions, Thermaltake has added a three-button fan speed controller (1530 RPM, 3060 RPM, and 5100 RPM), letting users select a temperature that they find refreshingly cool.

The blades sit inside a wind blocker frame that's created to direct large amounts of air toward the middle section of the blade. On the surface is coloured faux leather for a signature look, paired with breathable mesh to enable the fans. It has adjustable 4D armrests, extra head and back support that are both adjustable, and a multi-function tilt mechanism with a locking system.

Available in all-black and the classic red and back gaming colour schemes, the X Comfort Air will set buyers back by a hefty $500, around £380, and it appears to be only available in the United States at the moment.

More information on the X Comfort Air is available on the official website, where it is set at a United States recommended retail price of $499.99 (around £382 excluding taxes).
