Alves, who will captain Brazil at Wembley tonight, says that Jesus can be just as good, "For all that he's done, all that he's achieved, there's no pressure".

The visitors to Wembley are one of the favourites for next summer's World Cup in Russian Federation, owing largely to the potent combination of Jesus and Neymar in the final third.

"I wasn't joking when I called him the new Ronaldo", Alves told British media of similarities to the three-times FIFA World Player of the Year. "He's going to be one of the great players in football, he's already one of the best in the world".

Gabriel Jesús has turned from being a potential future star to a current performer at the highest level, despite his 20 years of age, after excelling with Palmeiras and impressing since debuting last season with Manchester City in the Premier League. 'He's doing what he loves.

"He came to England with natural fluency".

The 56-year-old is quoted by PA Sport as saying: "The characteristics of Gabriel Jesus and Kane are a bit different". Gabriel attacks the space, gives us that depth; Kane is more positional.

'All the big teams, like England, have this new generation coming through, ' he said. England, in contrast, are without a host of key players including Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Raheem Sterling, leading Southgate to call up several youngsters to their first senior worldwide squad.
