This is every Walking Dead enthusiast's biggest dream come true. Details of the actor's role are being kept under wraps.

Dillahunt joins Fear the Walking Dead as the series looks to repopulate its ranks after a third season that killed off Cliff Curtis' male lead Travis Manawa as well as Mercedes Mason's Ofelia Salazar.

In addition to The Mindy Project, Dillahunt can also be seen in Fox's X-Men spin-off show The Gifted as well as the TBS comedy anthology The Guest Book.

A spinoff of The Walking Dead, the action drama unfolds in Los Angeles and Mexico and follows a dysfunctional group who must band together in the face of the coming Zombie Apocalypse. "I want [to play] Negan", Dillahunt announced back in November of 2015. "So surprised and grateful for all the support my public lobbying has received". (The part went to Jeffrey Dean Morgan.) "If not Negan, then something else someday", Dillahunt wrote at the time.

AMC's Fear the Walking Dead is bringing in a superfan for season four.

Dillahunt joins Fear the Walking Dead at a turning point in its evolution.

He joins the prequel series to the uber-popular Walking Dead series after showrunner Dave Erickson has stepped down from his post after the season three finale. Here's to hoping that Dillahunt's character, whomever he may be, will survive the upcoming fourth season.
