Ten of country music's biggest stars are urging fans to continue to donate to causes supported by the Country Rising concert in Nashville on Sunday night (Nov. 12). "I love getting up every day and playing music, and I'll be damned if anybody out there will ever stop me from doing that".

The show kicked off with Lady Antebellum, who paid tribute to the late Tom Petty.

Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Keith Urban and Jon Pardi lent their voices to the sold-out show too. "It's affected our families. It's affected the country music community, but even during those hard times what we always try to do is find the good and make the difference, and tonight we're trying to make the difference". Sam Hunt delivered a chorus of the Woody Guthrie classic, "This Land Is Your Land" in addition to his hits. Dierks Bentley's set included his powerful song "Riser", which he dedicated to the first responders and the community for rallying together and rising up in the midst of tragedy, also surprising the crowd by bringing out special guest Jon Pardi who performed "Dirt On My Boots". Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane announced they were personally donating a quarter-million-dollars to the effort.

George Strait closed out the evening with his beloved hits including "Amarillo By Morning".

Donations are still being accepted by texting NASHVILLE to 41010 or a $10 donation, or at the Country Rising website.

The Country Rising all-star concert was born in response to double hurricanes (Harvey and Irma), but additional hurricanes and the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas forced organizers to expand the scope. As a lifelong drummer, he made a decision to take a hiatus from playing music to report it.
