Kapil Sharma on 'Firangi' not being a typical pre-independence day film

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Comedian Kapil Sharma, who is now busy in promoting his upcoming movie "Firangi", feels that the movie is not a typical pre-independence movie. The movie which is directed by Rajiev Dhingra and produced by Kapil Sharma himself. Currently, he is busy promoting his upcoming movie and he says that his movie is not based on the typical pre-independence movie.

When asked if "Firangi" was like a typical pre-independence movies like fans have always seen in Bollywood, the "Kis Kis Se Pyar Karoon" star told ANI, "We tried to make a light-hearted movie". When the audience will see the movie they will see the different flavors in the movie. Earlier, all the period movies have mostly shown the sad things but with this movie, the makers wanted to show the lighter side of that period because even at that time people were living a normal life. But, it also has a sense of patriotism too.

While talking about his character in the movie, the actor shared that his character is quite innocent.

Elaborating on his character, Sharma said, "He just wants to work for his family". Then he falls in love with a girl and understands that if he wants to be with her, he needs to work and finally gets a job with the britishers. But then he gets to know that his grandfather doesn't like anyone or anything, who or which, is related with Britishers. On Tuesday, the team of the comedy reality show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, which is judged by Akshay Kumar, Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade, was in for a rude shock.

Kapil Sharma's Firangi is set in the year 1920 with the colonial backdrop. In the movie, Kapil Sharma is portraying the character of Monga and the whole movie will revolve around his character.

"Firangi" releases on 24th November 2017.
