Resurrected Kuwaiti carrier Wataniya Airways has tentatively signed for 25 Airbus A320neo jets, in a deal reached with its aircraft provider Golden Falcon Aviation.

Wataniya Airways resumed flights in July, six years after ceasing operations due to its financial situation and political instability in the Middle East.

Wataniya chairman Ali Al Fouzan said he was delighted with the upgraded fleet which will initially be serving 16 destinations, primarily in Egypt, India, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates as well as Europe.

"The addition of the aircraft will enable us to further strengthen our network as we continue to serve our valued customers".
