The LA Kings have acquired forward Jussi Jokinen from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Michael Cammalleri, Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced today.

Cammalleri appeared in 15 games this season with the Kings, posting seven points (3-4=7), a plus-1 rating and four penalty minutes.

His best season came in 2008-09 with the Calgary Flames where he scored a career high 39 goals and 43 assists.

The 35-year-old Richmond Hill native signed a one-year deal with the Kings in the off-season, the club that drafted him in the second round (49th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The 35-year-old has put up 620 points in 855 games in his National Hockey League career, with stints in Montreal and Calgary among others.

Jokinen signed a one-year, $ 1.1 million contract with the Oilers in July after spending the last three seasons with the Florida Panthers. Much in the same ilk as Cammalleri, he is on pace for a new career low in average ice time, having played just above 12 minutes per night in the 14 games he has suited up for this season.
