The First Deadpool 2 Teaser Arrives the Way Only Deadpool Can

While the first two-thirds of the teaser is nothing more than an elaborate Bob Ross gimmick starring producer-star Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth in a Wig, the last bit is a dizzying sizzle reel of all-new footage.

One of the big surprise smashes of 2016, the Ryan Reynolds-starring Deadpool opened up, if not the floodgates, at least some level of conversation among filmmakers regarding placing superhero tentpoles outside of the now in-vogue Marvel Studios template.

This synopsis is characteristically tongue-in-cheek and farcical, giving absolutely nothing away about the film while dropping a pop culture reference that the first movie became famous for. There's always something a little off though - Deadpool's crass, psychotic comments like "God I love cocaine". Or you'll end up with a bunch of blood and paint in your eyes. "So from our family to yours, keep your trousers dry, your dreams wet, and remember, hugs not drugs". To celebrate finishing shooting his movie, Deadpool 2 lead Reynolds posted to Facebook, writing: "That's a wrap on DEADPOOL 2: A SONG OF FIRE AND ICE!" Jack Kesy of The Strain is reported to play the new villain, but that's pretty much it - until now! Brolin's fellow newbies include Hunt For The Wilderpeople's Julian Dennison, Atlanta's Zazie Beetz and Eddie Marsan.

Deadpool 2 s directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

It may be just 10 seconds but there's a lot packed in there including the return of regular characters Vanessa, Weasel, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Blind Al and Dopinder the taxi driver.

Story details for Deadpool 2 have been kept relatively secret, but fans can expect plenty more of Wade Wilson's trademark humour, impressive action scenes and a departure from the all-too-serious approach to comic book movies (we're looking at you DC).
