'Project Runway' Contestant Wendy Pepper Dies at 53

Villain-turned-beloved contestant Wendy Pepper (real name Anne Pepper Stewart) has passed away earlier this week, according to The Washington Post. It's no surprise they brought her back for "Project Runway All Stars" Season 2. The cause of death is unknown.

"Wendy designed and hand-sewed exceptionally handsome clothes for children and adults", the obituary reads. However, when she returned for Project Runway: All Stars Season 2 almost a decade after her first appearance, she was a changed woman, earning the love and respect of her peers, and quickly becoming a fan favorite all over again.

Pepper was born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Washington, D.C. She attended the University of Washington. "She was a chef, a writer, and a life-long entrepreneur".

Another "Project Runway" designer is gone much too soon.

"Her wit and humor were unmatched, as was her generosity of spirit", her obituary states. Funeral service Friday, December 1 at 10:30 a.m., Christ Church, Georgetown, 3116 O St., NW, Washington, DC 20007. "That's when I knew this was my life's work".

According to The Picket, Pepper ran a boutique in Shepherdstown, West Virginia in 2015. "For me, fashion is communication. I feel like it's an open door for people to come in and experience the world of fashion", she said at the time.
