Luxury auto maker Aston Martin has unveiled its new Vantage model which will replace the most successful vehicle in the company's history.

Developed at the same time as the Vantage road auto, the new Aston Martin Vantage GTE race vehicle has been revealed.

The new Vantage road vehicle was revealed to the world on Tuesday night, with confirmation of its GT racing plans also arriving through a number of announcements.

The Vantage GTE will likely not be as powerful as the 375kW/685Nm road-version, as FIA regulations restrict power and weight for parity. Designed and engineered in-house at Aston Martin Racing's headquarters in Banbury, the project is led by Technical Director Dan Sayers, who also guided the design and development of the current V8 Vantage GTE - the auto credited with 37 of the team's 51 worldwide race victories, including two Le Mans 24 Hour class wins.

Engineered by Aston Martin Racing based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, the GTE has had more than 8,000 miles of testing, including two 30-hour tests at the Spanish circuit Navarra and track time at the Sebring Raceway in Florida.

"The auto has also been through a rigorous durability programme at the notoriously rough Sebring circuit in Florida".

Following the reveal of the latest Vantage model, Aston Martin has unveiled the racing version of the two-seater sports auto. "The team has enjoyed incredible success over recent years with the outgoing V8 Vantage GTE and while this will hold fond memories for me, I can't wait to see the new vehicle race in anger at Spa-Francorchamps [the Belgian race circuit] next year and continue to write motorsport history". "This project has been one of the most intensive but also rewarding of my career so far".
