A man named as a person of interest in a Lewiston double homicide is a registered sex offender, convicted of sexually abusing a child. When officers got to the home they found 2 adults dead inside. As of Tuesday afternoon, Carlin was at the Oregon State Police office in Pendleton. A third adult was at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center being treated for a stab wound to the back.

Authorities eventually caught up with Carlin in Stanfield, Ore.

According to Lewiston Police Department, officers responded to the 600 block of Preston Avenue on Tuesday around 5 a.m. on reports of a disturbance.

Carlin was considered armed and unsafe, police said.

Lewiston Police issued a call for agencies around the Northwest to keep an eye out for Carlin's red Toyota Corolla with Idaho plates soon after the killings, said he was likely headed south and warned that he could be unsafe.

Pasco police helped with the search when Carlin was seen about 8 a.m.at the Jack-in-the-Box on Court Street.

Jeff Klone said he didn't know if any weapons were found on Carlin. Klone said the injury is "serious but stable".

He said a person of interest has been identified as Richard Carlin, 73.
