Missouri mall shooting: Teenager seriously injured amid Black Friday shopping

A shooting outside a Columbia, Missouri, shopping mall late Thursday night left a teen with life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred outside the Columbia Mall in Columbia, Mo. when a man allegedly fired his gun after attempting to place it in his holster, KMIZ reported.

Officers have not made any arrests and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Another man was also in the vehicle, police said.

Police officers are still interviewing witnesses as of 1:30 a.m. Friday. The report said police hadn't yet officially determined if the shooting was accidental. "Nobody was in any sort of danger", said Sgt. Clint Sinclair of the Columbia Police Department. They say they do not believe they are looking for anybody and have everyone they need to talk to.

The manager of the mall says guns are not allowed inside the building.

As of midnight Friday morning, law enforcement officials have placed crime scene tape on a section of the parking lot.

The injured person's identity was not immediately released.
