Who Built The Moon?

Holmes has pushed Gallagher towards optimism and ebullience - the airy electro-trance of It's A Beautiful World sounds like dear Noel channelling Opus III's It's A Fine Day and throwing in an Indian raga for fun.

Greg, a four-time Grammy Award victor who has written for Adele, Sia, Katy Perry, and Paul McCartney co-wrote two singles from the former Oasis frontman's debut solo album, Wall of Glass and Come Back to Me. "I think he's a very f**king lucky boy, and I don't mean Paul McCartney", the 50-year-old rocker said. "I will thank him for promoting my record, though, and it's not even out yet". And listening to a lot of Chemical Brothers and Primal Scream albums while he's at it.

The former Oasis guitarist, releasing Who Built the Moon? with his band the High Flying Birds this week, was asked in a recent interview with Vulture whose idea it was for him and brother Liam to time their album release dates so close together.

"When your record's ready, it goes, and that's the end of it, and if it's near to the other fellow's, then that's it", he explained.

"The groove really gets going on Be Careful What You Wish For, which stands out for the departure in songwriting rather than mere production, Holmes this time able to take a back seat as Gallagher does all the work on a track which loops around a bass line and intangible backing vocals in a way he's never attempted before."
