Newton the Brussels Griffon named top dog at the National Dog Show in Philly

A Portuguese water dog named Noah finished second. The competition, hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, was held last weekend, but the results were a closely guarded secret until today's broadcast.

The chihuahua wasn't the only one who couldn't beat out the Brussels griffon, as Newton reigned supreme over the six other finalists.

Newton "is just happy all the time", his handler, Susan Depew, told People magazine.

To wit: Newton got ice cream to celebrate his victory.
