A total of 1,318,109 requests have been made in the first 24 hours after a new period of ticket sales opened for the World Football Cup in Russian Federation in 2018, FIFA said today.

According to the website, 1,318,109 applications from supporters around the world have been sent within the first 24 hours as the random-selection draw sales period ends on January 31, 2018.

Currently, most applications have come from Russian Federation while global demand remains high and accounts for 34 per cent. Fans from Argentina, Peru, Mexico, USA, Colombia, Brazil, Morocco, Egypt, China and Poland all currently rank in top ten.

Likewise, the soccer governing body noted that fans can apply for individual match tickets for all games -except for the opening and final matches. In the event that the number of tickets requested exceeds the available inventory, allocation will be based on a random-selection draw procedure.
