Fellow porn stars say August Ames' death is related to cyberbullying

August Ames, famous for movies like "Beauty and the Beast XXX: An Erotic Fairy Tale Parody" and "Baby Got Boobs", has died, and friends of the actress believe she took her own life.

Throughout her four years in the business, she appeared in more than 270 X-rated films for companies like Evil Angel, Smash Pictures and Lethal Hardcore.

He said: "She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me". He also requested for privacy during this hard time.

According to Hollywood Life, friends close to Ames have claimed that she had been battling depression, and that online bullying may have played a part in her death.

Born Mercedes Grabowski in Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1994, Ames had found her way to the adult-film industry in 2013 following short stint in the food service industry as a bartender. Ames also scored a nomination for Female Performer of the Year in 2016, 2017 and the upcoming 2018 Awards, set for January. To this, many Twitter users pointed out that gay-porn workers are also tested by the same agencies that test heterosexual-porn workers.

A Canadian porn star has died unexpectedly, just days after facing a storm of homophobia accusations online.

The last message Ames wrote on Twitter was: "fuck y'all".

Following the post, Ames was accused of being homophobic, as social media users clamored for her to issue an apology.

"Omg, I can't believe she's dead", Albrite tweeted. "I'm not putting my body at risk, I don't know what they do in their private lives", she wrote. F-- you guys attacking me when none of my intentions were malicious.

The cause of death has not been disclosed, according to XBIZ.

Ames' death spurred a Twitter conversation among people in the porn industry about cyberbullying and porn actors' rights to choose who they work with.

Numerous figures in the porn industry were deeply shocked by the news of Ames' death, with fellow porn star Abella Danger tweeting: "She was the most kind-hearted person ever".

Before taking her own life, she was slammed on Twitter for posting about a film shoot which she chose to cancel on.

Porn film director Jules Jordan tweeted, saying Ames was one of the "nicest people" he ever knew.
