As thousands of fans tuned in again this morning to see the couple arrive for their first day of duties in Nottingham, numerous world's designers will have also been on standby again, just in case the royal-to-be has been shopping, incognito, in one of their stores.

An eager public watched on, some waiting hours to catch a glimpse of Prince Harry and his American fiancée, reports CBS News correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti. "I'm going to be here for the royal wedding, for the royal baby and its kind of a dream come true", she added.

Through tears of joy, she said: "I cried - she's wonderful, and it's fantastic".

It will be the first of many such engagements that Markle will undertake: On Friday she carried out her duties with enthusiasm, gripping the hands of cheering crowds as they lined the short route.

The couple will take a six-month tour of the country before getting married in May at Windsor Castle, the weekend residence of Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and the place where he was baptised.

"I think in these beginning few months and now being boots on the ground in the United Kingdom, I'm excited to just really get to know more about the different communities here, smaller organizations who are working on the same causes that I've always been passionate about", Markle said.

As the couple arrived, they walked towards a group of dignitaries with one arm around each other's backs.

They then moved along the seemingly endless line of well-wishers.

Members of the crowd called out Harry's name, while others held up camera phones to capture the moment, or stretched out their hands for the prince and his fiancee to shake.

Today, she paired the dark blue coat with black suede boots and carried a large burgundy handbag - something the Duchess of Cambridge rarely does.

Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding date has apparently been revealed, with the pair breaking the tradition of tying the knot on a weekday.

Meghan left her gloves at home to give well-wishers in Nottingham a chance to see her engagement ring.

The crowds were a sea of mobile phones, as people strained to capture the royal rite of passage for Ms Markle.

She brushed her long hair from her face and smiled broadly as she shook hand after hand before rejoining the prince a little later.

He said Ms Markle could not wait to meet people she had heard so much about.
