IN state officials approve new requirements for high school graduates.

A 14-member special panel (Indiana's Graduation Pathways Panel) approved the measures during meetings held between August and November to help students prepare for post-secondary life.

Starting in 2023, students will have to complete coursework and demonstrate employability skills through service or work projects.

Supporters say the move will ensure students are ready for either college or the workplace. These new pathways strike the right balance of higher expectations for all students with more individualized options to meet every student's unique needs and goals.
