5-Year-Old Texas Church Shooting Survivor Wishes For Christmas Cards

A fourth Sutherland Springs family is pursuing a wrongful-death claim against the Air Force for failing to tell the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the criminal history of Devin Patrick Kelley, the former airman who killed 26 people last month in the worst mass shooting in modern Texas history.

"They still haven't told him yet that his mom and sisters are dead, but I'm sure he's kind of getting some kind of idea because he's 5 and everybody else has been up there to see him and they haven't been there", Sandy Ward told the station. "He does really enjoy that a lot".

Ward thought Ryland would be out of the hospital before Christmas, but complications and the healing process have kept him there.

She said he's saving his money for a Go-Kart, and that if people can send him pictures of other kids and their pets, he will be happy.

In order to keep the boy's hopes up, his family is asking anyone who can spare five minutes to write him a card to do so.
