Speaking at a joint news conference with visiting French President Emanual Macron, Tamim also said that Qatar has been committed to fighting terrorism from the beginning, adding that reports being floated had been investigated and were shown to be erroneous, according to Reuters.

Macron is traveling with Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on a one-day trip to Qatar. The GCC members closed their airspace and seaports to Qatar, as well as the small peninsular nation's sole land border with Saudi Arabia. Qatar has denied the allegations and repeatedly called for a negotiated settlement.

As part of French president Emmanuel Macron's visit to Doha, Qatar, on Thursday signed contracts worth over 10 billion euros for the purchase of at least 12 Rafale fighter jets and 50 Airbus A-321 passenger planes.

It was also announced that the two sides were negotiating over the purchase of 300 VBCI armored vehicles from French firm Nexter and a contract worth some 3 billion euros (3.54 billion US dollars) over the management of the Doha metro for 20 years.
