Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon's vehicle collides with a lorry in Chennai

Acclaimed director Gautham Vasudev Menon met with an accident during the early hours on Thursday morning and his vehicle was said to be crushed beyond recognition when his auto rammed into a truck on East Coast Road, Chennai. The incident occurred near Chennai's Sholinganallur signal around 4 am on Thursday, December 7. It is reported that Gautham Menon lost control over the wheel while taking a turn and hit the lorry head-on.

However, Gautham Menon escaped with the minor injuries.

The director was travelling Mahabalipuram to Chennai in his Mercedes Benz. The traffic police had registered a case for further investigation.

Gautham Menon is now shooting for his upcoming "Dhruva Natchathiram" starring Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Ritu Varma among others.

Gautham Menon also has a web series lined up under his home banner Ondraga Entertainment, which will be released on YouTube on Friday.

GVM, as he is popularly known, has made several hit Tamil films inclduing Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), Kaakha Kaakha (2003), Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006), Yennai Arindhaal (2015) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016).
