Tom Zenk dead at age 59

According to an obituary in the Minnesota Star Tribune, former pro wrestler Tom Zenk has passed away at the age of 59 in his hometown of Robbinsdale, Minnesota. No further details have been reported. He was 59-years-old and spent a career entertaining millions as he was a part of many great cards in pro wrestling history.

Tom joined WWF in in 1986 to form the Can-Am connection with Rick Martel, but their push ended when Zenk unexpectedly quit the company. During a five year run, Zenk became a World Television Champion, but racked up accolades in tag team action.

Sean Walkman, who wrestled for both WWE and WCW tweeted: "Tom Zenk was the last surviving member of Robbinsdale HS's Class of '76. which included Curt Hennig, Rick Rude, & Dean Peters (Brady Boone)".

Zenk also won the WCW World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with Dusti Rhodes and Big Josh (later known as Matt Bourne/ The Original Doink The Clown) in 1991. (Beth), Kathryn Zenk James (Raymond) and James L. (Jo); 8 nieces and nephews, A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday 1/13/18 at 11:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 215 S. 8th St., Mpls.

The cause of his death has not been confirmed.
