This Detective Pikachu amiibo comes in at $30, which makes sense given the size increase.

The move marks another step in the recent resurgence of Pokemon that began with Pokemon Go's release in 2016.

Nintendo has finally released a Detective Pikachu trailer in English, with a release date that shows the game will be coming out on March 18 of this year.

Though the game is called Detective Pikachu, players actually control a boy named Tim Goodman. It's not only larger than a regular amiibo but it also lets players view all the Pika Prompts that they've uncovered throughout their adventure. Japanese gamers will be getting their hands on the first physical release for Detective Pikachu, complete with the Detective Pikachu amiibo, the same day North America and Europe can finally get their hands on the game.

Detective Pikachu will see our yellow friend exploring crime scenes in search of new clues and puzzles while also chatting with the citizens of Ryme City in search of valuable information. I've never been big on the Pokemon spin-off games, sticking mostly to the main RPG entries, but it could be a lot of fun to play around with.

A special limited-edition oversized amiibo of Detective Pikachu will also be released at launch. Amazingly, Detective Pikachu apparently worked with Tim's father, so that's.something. While Ryan Reynolds has the role of Detective Pikachu in the upcoming feature film, he's not the voice you hear in the trailer.

Detective Pikachu will be released on March 23 through the eShop and retail for $39.99 or your regional equivalent.
