Huddersfield Town have their man for an undisclosed fee.

'He is exactly the type of player that we like to work with at this club.

"Huddersfield Town has today completed the permanent transfer of Alex Pritchard from Sky Bet Championship side Norwich City".

The 24-year-old had been the subject of interest from Huddersfield for a couple of weeks, with David Wagner seemingly admitting defeat at the start of the month as he rued the cost of English players.

With a lack of goals since their return to the top flight, the Terriers will now have added spark in attack as they aim to survive in the Premier League.

The Terriers have agreed personal terms with Pritchard after an improved undisclosed bid for the 24-year-old had been accepted earlier in the week.

The Canaries were reluctant to sell their star player, but with their parachute payments ending and sitting 13th in the table, Pritchard would have been foolish to turn down a move back to the Premier League.

Pritchard will become Huddersfield's second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Terence Kongolo from Monaco, and Wagner is not ruling out further moves.

Now sitting in 11th place, the Terriers are above the relegation zone now, but only by four points, and only two above their next opponents West Ham United.

Pritchard will wear the number 21 shirt for the Terriers and could make his debut againt West Ham this weekend.
