Dark Souls is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch as a remaster, as well as Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC!

Dark Souls Remastered will release for Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 25th. Lordran and its cadre of nightmarish monsters will no doubt look even more haunting and treacherous with all of that lovely extra detail. It also spawned two sequels with Dark Souls II - which was not directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki - and Dark Souls III. Check out the announcement trailer below. Of course, the game will be playable docked and undocked, meaning that this will be the first time that players will be able to take the game on the road. Not only has From Software given fans what they wanted, such as more weapons and spells, but they have also added a new faction system that goes above and beyond the scope of Demon's Souls.

Aside from the upgraded visuals arriving with it, the remaster will be playable in 60fps at 4K resolution on PC, Xbox One X, and PlayStation 4 Pro.

A Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set has been announced by Bandai Namco, but at present, it's only listed for Japan.

According to Dark Souls Remastered's store page, all Steam owners of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die will get a 50% discount.

The Switch rumour always involved all three Dark Souls game as well, which seemed unlikely given the sheer volume of content that would involve - for both developer and player. Would you like to see the entire Dark Souls series on the Switch?
